This website is operated by Old Maps Shop, a limited company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”).

All orders and communications are handled under this trading name. Individual names are not disclosed on this website.

Products

We sell reproduction historical maps, which are printed from original antique maps and hand-mounted onto linen.

Please note:

• The maps we sell are reproductions of historical antique maps and are not original antique items.
• Products are produced in multiple editions and identical or substantially similar items may be available for purchase by other customers.
• Due to the hand-mounting and finishing process, minor variations, marks, creases, or imperfections may occur and are considered part of the product’s character.
• Product photographs and descriptions are provided as accurately as possible but may not reflect every minor variation between individual items.

  • Due to the hand-finishing process, minor variations, marks, or imperfections may occur

By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept these characteristics of the products.

Orders & Contract Formation

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase a product from us.

A contract is formed only when:

• We accept your order and dispatch the product(s) to you.
• You receive a dispatch confirmation email from us.

  • Payment has been successfully completed, and

  • You receive an order confirmation email

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order at our discretion, including (but not limited to) cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or stock issues. If this occurs, you will be refunded in full.

Pricing & Payments

All prices are shown in GBP unless otherwise stated.

Payments are processed via the Squarespace checkout system, which may include third-party payment providers such as Stripe and/or PayPal depending on availability and location.

We reserve the right to:

• Correct any pricing, product description, or typographical errors.
• Change prices at any time before an order is accepted.
• Withdraw products from sale without notice.

  • Correct pricing errors before or after order acceptance (refunds will be issued if necessary)

Shipping & Delivery

We ship both within the United Kingdom and internationally.

Delivery times provided are estimates only and may vary depending on destination and courier.

We are not responsible for:

• Delays caused by customs clearance, postal services, couriers, or events beyond our reasonable control.
• Incorrect delivery information provided by the customer.
• Any customs duties, import taxes, or other charges imposed by the destination country.

Once an order has been dispatched, responsibility for delivery passes to the courier.

Returns & Refunds

Returns are governed by our Return & Refund Policy.

In summary:

• Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery.
• Items must be unused, undamaged, and returned in their original condition and packaging.
• Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrectly supplied.
• We do not offer exchanges; customers wishing to purchase a different item must place a new order.
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected.

We do not offer returns based on subjective appearance differences once the item has been received, as product characteristics are clearly described.

Damaged or Faulty Items

If an item arrives damaged or faulty, you must contact us within 7 days of delivery with supporting evidence (e.g. photos).

Where appropriate, we will offer a replacement or refund at our discretion.

This does not affect your statutory rights under UK law.
